Melissa Goldman, Associate Social Worker (ASW), is a warm, relational therapist with deep expertise in early childhood mental health, trauma-informed care, and reflective parenting. With years of experience supporting children, caregivers, and families in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties, Melissa brings a calm and grounded presence to her work with families navigating developmental, behavioral, and relational challenges.

Melissa’s approach is rooted in connection and safety. She works from a trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and culturally responsive lens, honoring each family’s wisdom while helping them discover new ways to heal and grow. Melissa specializes in supporting parents of young children—especially those navigating postpartum transitions, early parenting stress, or caring for children with developmental needs or trauma histories.

Her background includes roles as a Child Development Specialist, Family Support Navigator, and clinician within the child welfare system. She brings a wealth of tools to the therapy space, including Infant-Parent Psychotherapy, Attachment Play Therapy, Reflective Caregiving, and psychoeducation for caregivers.

Melissa has particular experience supporting neurodivergent families and those impacted by ADHD, sensory processing challenges, or medical complexities. She is passionate about helping caregivers reconnect with their children—and themselves—through play, presence, and attuned relationships.

Certified in Infant-Family Early Childhood Mental Health (California Endorsement), Theraplay Level 1, and infant massage instruction, Melissa blends creativity and curiosity into her sessions. Known for her gentle humor and thoughtful reframing, she helps families find resilience, joy, and meaningful connection in the everyday moments of caregiving.
